WHAT WE KEEP, AND WHY.

Who runs this

DeCombat is an independent, unofficial community project run by volunteers, not by Nexon, Valofe or the owners of the original game. The servers and this website are run by the project team. To reach us about anything on this page, write to contact@decombat.com.

This is a beta. Accounts and progress may be reset before the full launch.

The website

This website sets no cookies and has no analytics, advertising or tracking scripts. Its fonts and images come from the site itself. Like every web host, our hosting provider (Firebase Hosting, run by Google) sees your IP address and browser details when your browser asks for a page, and keeps ordinary server logs under its own policy. The page only talks to our beta server when you press the sign-up button. A link to GitHub or Discord takes you to their sites, with their own rules.

Beta sign-up

When you request an invite, we store:

We use this to mail you a confirmation link, to send an invite code when your turn comes, and to ask for feedback during the beta. We do not use it for anything else and we do not sell it.

How long it is kept:

Your game account

When you register and play, the server stores:

There is no real-money payment anywhere in DeCombat: shop items are bought with currency you earn in play, so we hold no payment data. Your nickname, stats, clan and chat are visible to other players, as in any online game.

These records stay until you ask us to delete the account or the server is reset. Because this is a beta, accounts and progress may be reset before the full launch.

While you play: connection data

To connect you, the servers see your IP address. They use it to run the connection and to limit login and registration attempts (those counters live in memory only). The addresses also appear in server log lines about refused logins, password reset requests and connection errors.

For every match, the game server measures how well each player's connection worked: round-trip time, packets sent and received, resends, drops, how the connection ended. The lobby stores these numbers with your account number and nickname, together with a short list of events per account (logins, joining and leaving a match, a blocked start, a dropped connection, a report you filed). This is only used to find and fix lag, crashes and dropouts. These records are deleted after 14 days.

Server log files are text files on the servers. They hold logins (with the login name), errors, matches and the lobby and clan chat lines with the nickname. We keep them only as long as we need them to run and debug the servers.

The servers keep encrypted backups of the database. A deletion reaches the backups as old ones are replaced.

Reports and diagnostics you send

If you send a bug report from the game (Report a Bug or the /report chat command), we store its text, category, your account number, login and nickname, where you were on the server, and the time. Reports stay in the database like other account records, so you can ask us to delete them.

A diagnostics report is sent only if you allow it (the game asks the first time, and the /diag command changes your choice) or send it yourself. It holds: the game version, your operating system, processor, memory and graphics card with its driver, display settings, the last part of the game's own log files, the network figures of the match that went wrong, the result of a connection test if you ran one, crash and stall notes, your login name, the time and the IP address it came from. Before it leaves your computer the game removes passwords, login tokens, e-mail addresses, your Windows or Mac user and computer names and every IP address other than our servers'. It never contains a memory dump. Diagnostics reports are deleted after 30 days. We get a short summary by e-mail; the report itself stays on the server.

Who processes it

We use a few services to run DeCombat. Some of them are in the United States, so your data may leave your country.

We do not run ads, we do not use analytics or trackers, and we do not sell or rent your data. We would disclose data only if the law requires it.

Your choices

You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, for a correction, or for deletion, by writing to contact@decombat.com. Write from the address that is on your sign-up or account, and tell us your login name if you have one. Depending on where you live you may have more rights, for example under the GDPR; we will honour them. You can stop beta mail at any time with the unsubscribe link in every mail.

Age

DeCombat is not meant for children under 13. Please do not sign up or play if you are younger.

Changes

If we change what we collect or how we use it, we will update this page and its date, and we will say so on the website or in the community Discord when the change matters. Last updated: 2026-11-03.
